Hilton Head Island Engagement Session – Nicole and Christopher
Nicole has been really on the ball with her wedding planning, and we had this Hilton Head engagement session planned for months! We both worried about the weather working out, but we got so lucky! It was a perfect springtime weekend in Hilton Head and Bluffton, and I loved the opportunity to travel from Columbia, SC down to the low country for Nicole and Christopher’s engagement photos.
We met early in the morning at Sea Pines Golf Resort near the Harbour Town Lighthouse for round one of Nicole and Christopher’s engagement session, since this location is very important to Christopher. I love the ring shots on the golf ball!
The morning light did not disappoint. I LOVE when a couple is willing to get up bright and early for their session! Also, how cute is the wedding date on these golf balls?!
I could definitely see why this location was meaningful to Nicole and Christopher. Who wouldn’t love a golf course right on the marsh?
Oh, did I mention the beautiful light house? The Harbour Town Lighthouse is a beautiful, unique feature at Sea Pines Golf Resort on Hilton Head Island.
Seriously, I love this light house and the morning light!
These macro ring shots were worth every single bite from the no-see-ums that were swarming. I’ll never again head to an engagement session without bug spray!
I couldn’t let them finish up round one of engagement photos without a picture in a golf cart!
Nicole and I had planned some photos at Palmetto Bluffs, which is about an hour away from the golf club. Since ideal light just doesn’t last that long, we scheduled round 2 of their photos for the end of the day near sunset.
We had a great time hamming it up during the evening engagement session!
Maybe it’s springtime, or maybe it was being in the Lowcountry, but I just can’t get over the gorgeous light we had!
See what I mean with the gorgeous light?
I adore Spanish Moss, and you can’t find it many places other than the Lowcountry region of South Carolina. This is now one of my favorite ring shots of all time!
Gorgeous light + Spanish Moss = perfection!
There was no shortage of great photo ops at Palmetto Bluffs!
Everything was beautiful, from the bridge to the tree…and of course the couple!
When Nicole was born, her parents lived on Drayton Street in Newberry, so this Drayton St sign in Bluffton was a must-have photo for Nicole’s mom!
As we were leaving Palmetto Bluffs, I had Nicole and Christopher stop again for this photo op, and we saw some of the local wildlife; an alligator was hanging out in the pond below the road!
All in all, it was a wonderful trip to Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, and I’m so thankful that Nicole invited me and my assistant, Marlowe, down for hers and Christopher’s engagement session. I’m always willing to travel from Columbia for a chance to shoot in new, stunning locations!
