Greek Orthodox Wedding in Greenville, SC

Maggie & Matt had BIG plans for their Greek Orthodox wedding in Greenville, SC, which was evident from our very first phone call. Living out of town made planning a bit more anxiety-inducing for Maggie and her mother, but fortunately, with Farrah Redmond Events and myself on deck, the months of planning culminated in a truly incredible wedding weekend!

One thing I adore is being able to photograph the rehearsal dinner/welcome party the evening before any wedding. This one knocked it out of the park, hosted at Avenue Greenville's rooftop venue, with decor from Professional Party Rentals, and Kara Nash Designs. It's such a blessing to hear all of the loving, sentimental, and often hilarious stories shared by family and friends during rehearsal dinner toasts!

Wedding day prep began bright and early on Saturday morning, at a private home in Greenville's historical Pettigru District, before we moved over to St George Greek Orthodox Church for portraits and an exquisite ceremony. I'm usually a woman of many words, but the photos say more about this perfect day than any of my words ever could!

Quick tip on details: make sure you have them all in ONE place for the photographers to style and photograph as soon as they arrive! This will save time, help the photographers know which items go together, and also keep you from having to run around searching for things on your wedding day. Also, we really love an adorable breakfast bar and being invited to have a few bites while working as well 😉

Another important block to build into your wedding day timeline: first look at reception! Let your wedding planner, florist, draping experts, etc guide you through your reception space before everyone else sees it. This reception at Huguenot Loft in Downtown Greenville was absolutely stunning, and the facial expressions alone show how much in awe everyone was at the hard work of Farrah Redmond, Voile & Veil, Table 301 Catering, PPR, and Kara Nash Designs. You would be hard pressed to find a better dream team for your Greenville, SC wedding!

After taking it all in, The Trolley Co shuttled us quickly over to St George Greek Orthodox church for a ceremony unlike ones you see every day. The rituals involved in a Greek Orthodox wedding are so beautiful, I found myself moved to chills more than once.

As soon as this Greek Orthodox wedding in Greenville, SC was finished, and we chased the setting sunlight for portraits, it was off to Huguenot Loft for one of the most beautiful, lively wedding receptions I've ever photographed. Just check out that incredible cake display, courtesy of Couture Cakes Greenville, and the fabulous dancing and music provided by I Love This Band. Between the traditional Greek dancing, the energy of the band, and even a performance by the groom himself, I think everyone smiled ear-to-ear all night long!

Finally, The Perfect Getaway Greenville showed up in a classic white Rolls Royce, ready to whisk Maggie & Matt off to their future wedded bliss! From the first morning photograph until the 11:30pm sendoff, this wedding day was nothing short of perfection, and I'm so thankful that I get to capture memories like these for families to cherish for years to come.
