There are many gorgeous wedding venues in Columbia, but I have to admit, the Lace House is definitely among my favorites. When Jill contacted me last year about her wedding at the Lace House, I jumped at the chance! I already knew she had a really cool relationship story, and knew this wedding would be amazing. It did not disappoint!
In Jill’s own words, “We are the perfect example of the saying “opposites attract” because we really couldn’t be more different. Together we create a good balance — much like yin and yang — and after three years together, we couldn’t imagine being apart. We chose the Lace House because Luis used to work nights here during our long distance relationship. He said he could always imagine marrying me here. Since we both have children we wanted to include our sons in our wedding celebration. We are coming together as a family which makes this wedding extra special.” Her own concise words explain everything much better than I ever could try!
Their family and friends celebrated with every ounce of enthusiasm and joy, and the details — from the beautiful guitar music played by Don Russo , to the absolutely PHENOMENAL food by Jaime Santiago at Classic Catering (just wait until you see the Paella!), to the stunning florals by Maggie Rasmussen of Cloudberry & Willow — all captured the love and specialness of this event.
Everyone was a huge fan of the wedding favors (get it?!). Ba-dum-tsh!
These globes with succelents hung from the trees surround the Lace House ceremony, and perfectly accented the beauty already present in the gardens surround the Lace House and Governor’s Mansion Complex.
I’m so glad that Luis and Jill opted for a First Look. That precious, private time together before the ceremony is absolutely worth forgoing any old traditions! We had ample time for wandering the gardens and capturing them together before the ceremony…and they were able to join their reception only 15 minutes after the ceremony!
Every moment of this Lace House wedding was amazing, and I can not wait until the next wedding I get to photograph there! Jill and Luis, I feel so honored to have been a part of your special day, and I am so thankful for you both allowing me to witness and capture the beginning of your lives as a family together!
