Ellen and Alec have quite a story leading up to their Clemson wedding; he came to Clemson from across the country in California, and their meeting seemed destined from day one. Clemson is one of the largest universities in the southeast (and one of the most beautiful, as proven in many portrait sessions), and plenty of people run into each other on move-in day. However, when the these families crossed paths on move-in day back when Ellen's sister and Alec's cousin were roommates, fate was put into motion.

Even though Ellen was still a senior in highschool, she'd head up to Clemson to see her sister plenty, and always made sure to get to the Beta party that weekend where she knew Alec would be (if he wasn't at her sister and his cousin's apartment eating their food)! Her persistence paid off, and they have been together ever since! Though they currently live in California's Bay Area, they knew that their wedding had to take place at Clemson, where it all began.
Needless to say, the families were already intertwined over 7 years ago, so when everyone got together last weekend for the wedding, there was so much camaraderie that the other vendors and I got confused occasionally as to who went with whom! They are already all close, and now that Ellen and Alec have tied the knot, they are all officially one big, very happy, family.

The wedding day was off to a good start with some spotty sunshine, but as the afternoon went on, it got darker and darker in the James Martin Inn where everyone was getting ready while some big storms moved in! Our plans for gorgeous outdoor photos had to be changed at the last minute, but everyone went along with it without complaining, and we got SUPER lucky when the sun came out right at the perfect time. By the time their ceremony began, the sun was gleaming across the Walker golf course and making Owen Pavilion the perfect spot to say "I do"!

Ellen and Alec had friends and family travel from all across the country (and some from overseas) to join them at their Clemson wedding, and one thing I have noticed in my years doing wedding photography is that when a couple has that many friends willing to travel and be a part of their wedding, it speaks very highly towards the couple. The genuine joy and laughter shared by so many last weekend bodes really well for Alec and Ellen's future; they are surrounded by so many people who are rooting for their success, and that's something you can never have too much of!

Ellen, Alec, and parents, thank you again for allowing me to be a part of such a joyous and special weekend. I hope to see you all again at future weddings and celebrations at Clemson!
