Brooke and Ryan’s engagement story is totally a unique one! On July 10 of last year, Ryan asked Brooke to come to one of his baseball coaching lessons and take pictures for his website. When they arrived, no one was at the field so they decided to play catch. Ryan was trying (and failing) to teach Brooke how to properly throw and catch a baseball. After a few tries Ryan said he had something that might make it a little easier. He reached in his bag and pulled out a custom made pink and blue glove with Brooke’s future last name and “I Love You” stitched in. Then he pulled out a baseball that he had transformed into a ring box, got down on one knee and proposed! After the proposal, they celebrated with dinner at Nonnah’s Sea & Salt, which is known for their amazing desserts.
The rest is history, and almost a year later, we met for their engagement session in downtown Columbia. Since they celebrated at Nonnah’s a year ago, we thought it would be perfect to capture a few photos of them together there, after we shot their outdoor photos at the SC State House. Thank goodness we did, because a few minutes into our session at Nonnah’s, the sky opened up, and there was no chance for more outdoor photos! While we waited out the storm, Brooke and Ryan enjoyed one of Nonnah’s fabulous desserts, while she and I bonded over a mutual love of Bravo’s Southern Charm. We all left this session feeling like we had made new friends, which is the BEST way to leave a session!
Enjoy their sunshine-filled photos at the SC State House and the dessert and drink photos from Nonnah’s!
