I’m sure y’all know this by now, but I LOVE this job as a wedding photographer in SC. From the upstate to the lowcountry, we seriously have one of the most beautiful states in the nation, and of course, Charleston has ranked as the best city in the entire US for 5 years running! So when Jessica and Austin contacted me about their Boone Hall Plantation wedding, I jumped at the chance to photograph their big day in Charleston! If you haven’t already seen Jessica’s amazing bridal portrait session from Boone Hall Plantation and the Cistern at College of Charleston, you have to go check it out here.
As their big day neared, it became very obvious to all of us that this was going to be quite a stormy wedding day. If rain on your wedding day is truly a sign of good luck, then Jessica and Austin have a lifetime of luck ahead of them! Whether that superstition is true or not, it’s very clear that they will most definitely enjoy a lifetime of love. Driving to Charleston in the pouring rain, I was a bit nervous that Jessica might be frazzled or frustrated, but it was clear from the moment I walked into the bridal suite on the Isle of Palms that everything would be just fine! Everyone was having a blast getting ready, and there were plenty of large white golf umbrellas to go around, so we knew it would be a great day.
The wedding ceremony on the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation was gorgeous, since even in the rain, Charleston’s marshes are serene and inspiring. Every wedding guest clearly had a blast dancing all night, and the weather ended up providing the perfect ambience for some of my favorite Charleston wedding photos ever!
Jessica and Austin, I am sure you guys are loving married life, and I have to thank you once again for letting me capture every detail of your day for you! I hope you enjoy the highlights from your beautiful Boone Hall Plantation wedding!
